HOLBURNE MUSEUM, Great Pulteney Street
Built in 1799 this beautiful building once a hotel served the pleasure gardens known as Sydney Gardens (only remaining 18th century pleasure gardens in the UK). It was Bath’s first Public Art Museum and proudly holds the collection of Sir William Holburne’s findings – over 2000 items including portrait miniatures, porcelain, embroideries and portraits by some of the greatest artists of the eighteenth century.
Did you know … Sir William Holburne joined the Navy as an 11 year old and fought in the Battle of Trafalgar.
